Contact: Tom Kunse

State Rep. Tom Kunse, R-Clare, last week was proud to accept the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Champion of Free Enterprise award.

The chamber presents the award to legislators who voted on key bills in a manner that positively impacted Michigan businesses and employees across the state. To receive the award, a legislator must have a 100% voting record on bills that reflect chamber priorities throughout the legislative term.

“There is no greater asset to a state than a healthy business environment,” said Kunse, who owned a small business for over 30 years. “Sometimes we forget the human aspects of a strong economy. When businesses succeed, their employees and the surrounding communities reap the benefits. I’m honored to be recognized by the Michigan Chamber for our hard work to protect and grow the Michigan economy and drive our state toward success.”

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce exists to advocate for businesses and job providers and promotes pro-business policies in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of state government.

“Representative Tom Kunse has been a great friend of the business community during his time in the Michigan Legislature,” said Wendy Block, Senior Vice President of Business Advocacy at the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. “We were pleased to present him with a Champion of Free Enterprise award this week for his 100% vote record with the Michigan Chamber during the 2023-24 legislative session.”
