State Rep. David Martin will serve as chair of the House Natural Resources and Tourism Committee for the 2025-26 legislative term.
Martin (R-Davison) previously served as the Republican vice chair of the committee, which manages policies related to Michigan’s natural resources and the tourism industry.
“Michigan’s natural resources are essential to our economy, our way of life, and our identity as a state,” Martin said. “From the Great Lakes to our forests and trails, these treasures drive a thriving tourism industry that supports small businesses, local communities, and countless jobs. I’m committed to protecting and promoting these resources, so when people visit Michigan for vacation or business they are impressed with our breathtaking landscapes, welcoming communities, and world-class outdoor experiences.”
House Speaker Matt Hall announced his appointments to House committees on Thursday.
Martin will also serve on the House’s Energy, Finance, and Rules committees.
